This summer, Centennial is having a summer acceleration program where kids can get more credit for classes that students may have done badly in or want an extra boost of credit.
The program is allowing opportunities for academic intervention, credit recovery, and extracurricular activities. The program goes from May 31st to June 17th which accumulates to a total of three weeks. There is a AM and a PM schedule so students can pick which time students want to attend.
The morning schedule goes from 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. session and 10:20 A.M. to 1:25 P.M.
Students are expected to attend the full three weeks and attendance will be recorded on an infinite campus to show that the students are attending and to track students participation. Although absences will not be held against the student in the event there is a need to be absent that day.
Week one of the program will go from May 31st June 3rd week two goes from June 6th to June 10th and. Finally, week three goes from June 13th to June 17th. That will be the schedule students should go off of for the total of the program. The staff is being very good about emailing parents and students about the program.
“I believe that summer acceleration will be good for a lot of students who need credit recovery or extra help,” Sophomore, Luis Castro said.
Recovering and getting the credit needed for a class is extremely important and there is tremendous amounts of help around Centennial the staff is encouraging students to sign up if needed.
