In 2023, Disney will be celebrating its 100th anniversary.
With this being the 100th year, Disney has announced new shows and movies coming out on Disney+ with new Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Lucasfilms. New theme park attractions will also be added to Disney Parks.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be coming to theaters on Nov. 11. Director Ryan Coogler displayed an exclusive scene showing the communities mourning the death of King T’Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman. Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s all-female special force unit, is not taking Boseman’s death lightly and is not gonna let it go.
Star Wars also revealed a season three trailer for “The Mandalorian” as part of the D23 Expo showcase. Baby Yoda is shown a lot in the trailer but things do not look so simple for his guardian, the Mandalorian.
He was informed since he removed his Mandalorian helmet, “You are a Mandalorian no more.” Season three will come out next year.
Indiana Jones 5 will be coming to theaters on June 30, 2023. Harrison Ford will be returning to his original role as Indiana Jones. The movie also brings back the return of John Rhys-Davies as Sallah and the reveal of Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Jones’ goddaughter, Helena.
“I’m very proud to say that this one is fantastic,” Harrison said as he teared up on stage when talking about the new film.
Disney has a new live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. Hailey Bailey plays Ariel and the trailer teases a clip of the latest version of the song Part of Your World.
Many new attractions will be coming to Disney Parks all around the world. Avengers Campus at Disney’s California Adventure will add a Multiverse-themed third attraction for Thanos. The attraction will show a new version of Thanos in a reality he won. It is unclear when this attraction will open.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the rethemed version of Splash Mountain, is arriving at Disneyland in late 2024.
Tron: Light Cycle Run has a launch date now of Spring 2023 at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. There will be a new frozen attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. Disneyland Paris will also get a Tangled attraction.
Amy Poehler appeared at the expo and announced that there would be an Inside Out 2. The movie will show mainly the emotions and new emotions Riley has grown to have when becoming a teenager.
With multiple shows, movies, and park updates coming in the next year, it will be an exciting time for fans and guests to experience.
