Centennial gets ready for their game.
Centennial High School’s Boys Varsity Football team played in a hard-fought game against Palo Verde’s Panthers on Friday, Sept 16, 2022.
This was the second game of September and the team persevered until the finale. The fight was long and resulted in scores of 48-30.
The Bulldogs varsity team has yet to win a game. This game was one of the closest to winning but the team continued the season with 5 losses and 0 wins. This game was on Centennial’s home grounds.
September 16th was the night that Palo-Verde High School’s Panthers received their second win of the season and unfortunately, the Bulldogs gave them the win.
Junior quarterback Victor Plotnikov threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns both to Da’mari Wiggins in the back and forth battle.
“[The team could work on] better alignment and assignment on the defensive side of the ball, and better execution in the red zone on offense,” head coach, Dustin Forshee said.
When asked what could have been done better, member of the Bulldogs’ varsity team, Shaje Silva said, “Communication, is key, and to stay connected.” With hard work the team is hopeful for a win.
Overall, no matter the defeat, the team remains persistent and will continue to be supported throughout the season.
The next varsity game is against Desert Pines and will take place on Sept. 23, 2022.
