Legacy takes down Centennial in HOCO game

Centennial entered Friday’s game with a record of (0-3), and Legacy entered with a record of (0-3) as well. For Centennial, it was a pivotal game as this marked the homecoming game.
The crowd was ecstatic, this was Centennial’s game. The match started quickly, the Legacy Longhorns would score within minutes of kickoff. A 6-yard TD pass, executed with a 2-point conversion.
Legacy would then capitalize on a Centennial fumble and score another touchdown. This time missing the extra point, putting themselves up 14-0. Minutes later Legacy would score another touchdown, as well as execute a 2-point conversion. Making the score 22-0 going into the second quarter.
During the second quarter, both teams showed explosive offense. The Longhorns would score two rushing touchdowns. Centennial would fight their way back with a forced fumble and two touchdowns before halftime. The score going into halftime was 34-14, Longhorns.
After halftime came to an end, Legacy would jump to a start. Intercepting Centennial and turning the turnover into a score. A rushing touchdown met with a 2-point conversion.
As the end came near, Centennial needed to work something up in order to put themselves back into the game. Both teams would get stops, but eventually Centennial would score a last-ditch effort touchdown. It proved to be a great game. The final score came in Legacy’s favor, 42-21. Drawing a sad end to Centennial’s homecoming game.
“I’m proud of the way the team fought no matter the outcome,” Quarterback, Victor Plotnikove said.
