Have you ever wondered how video games are made or what it takes to make them? Well, a new club has emerged on our campus that can answer all your questions. With Shelly Hickman’s help, Mira Lindsey has created a club that meets every Monday after school in room 315. This club has a calming and welcoming atmosphere that will help you introduce yourself to the world of developing video games.
Students involved in this club are creating games using the “Unity Game Engine” and “Piskel”, a drawing app that focuses on pixel art. The game being developed at the moment is a delightful platformer game where players can assume the role of a cat. The game development club is putting in its best efforts to ensure the game is thoroughly engaging and fun.
Gavin Otte, a club member, said “It’s the most fun club I’ve ever joined and I heard it sounded interesting. So, I picked this one. It’s very lively.”
“This club teaches you collaboration skills and seeing how games are made. I love coming up with crazy ideas. It’s just fun to make up stuff with your friends,” said Mira. If you are interested in making video games or just want a place to hang out after school, you should consider the Video Game Design Club. They meet after school every Monday in room 315, from after school from 1: 15 to 2:00 p.m.
