When it comes to Centennial there are tons of eventful weeks that students can participate in to help the flow of their academic environment be more positive and uplifting. Driven by a CCSD wide awareness project, Centennial brings to all students the week of respect! This week, highly influenced by recognition of value among others, is taking place September 30th-October 4th.
Students will have the opportunity to practice the qualities of respect through kindness, consideration and understanding of one another. Centennial will make this week of respect more interactive through a series of art symbolism and a game of bingo!
Student council will present the campus with a large art piece known as “The Tree of Respect. It will be a large tree in the quad where students can place their painted handprints onto the tree resembling the leaves. This symbolizes how much people can be unified together through all kinds of forms of respect. There will be bingo cards with 25 squares consisting of tasks related to empathy, support, kindness, civility, and so many more qualities related to being respectful. This week can also act as an anti bully/cyber bullying movement week, making way for students who struggle in such cases to feel acknowledged in their school environment
Mrs.Kasten, the Advisor of Student Council said, ”Students should keep respect at the top of their minds, and implement it into their everyday lives.” So, next week make sure to share positive vibes through the principles of kindness and all the above!
