The Centennial Varsity Girls Basketball Team played against Ontario Christian on October 19th, at Coronado High School for the 2024 Border League Tournament. Though our Bulldogs lost with the score being 48-71, Ontario Christian was great competition. With many college coaches in attendance, the media was shocking! The games were streamed on ESPN, Ball is Life, Balldawgs, and many more.
At the beginning of the game, Sophomore Nation Williams, won the tip of the jump ball. This gave the Bulldogs first possession! Shortly after, the ball was turned over. This may not have been the best start for our Bulldogs, but they eventually got back into rhythm. With this, Junior Guard Sanai Branch, helped her team with scoring the first points for the Bulldogs. By the end of the first half the score was 25-38 with Ontario Christian leading. By the end of the game our Bulldogs were only able to score another 23 points. Though this game resulted in a loss, the Bulldogs still were very competitive and kept fighting.
The Bulldogs did not let this loss upset them, winning their next game against Hollerbach Athletics with the score being 81-55. The Bulldogs will play their first home game of the year against the Clark Chargers, on December 4th, at the Dawg Pound. Be ready for this year’s basketball season!
