Centennial High School is a campus full of high entertainment, given all of the possible extra curricula students could excel in. There’s a mix of everything you could be interested in viewing or seeing for yourself.
When it comes to aspects revolving around catching the eye and exciting the crow, the theatre department is one of many groups that is perfect for the job! As the seasons change and the weather gets cooler, so do the theatrical pieces provided by our Centennial actors! During this cool fall season the theatre department displayed their seasonal play known as “Silent Laughter”, which took place November 21st and 22nd at 6pm in the school theatre. The play revolved around the concept similar to the arts of mimes’. Without the use of their voices, the actors used nothing but their mere movements and expressions to express the plot to the audience! Silent Laughter was about the life of a man who lived in the slums and soon fell in love with a wealthy woman. Though their love was looked down upon by the public the man faced the trials and tribulations throughout the play in order to keep her hand!
Said by Ms. Prather, one of the theatre advisor’s, “The best part about putting together these plays is bringing the story to life in a very unique way and seeing the kids’ success.”
And once again, the Centennial Theatre team worked together to make something worthwhile for the audience.
