On Monday, January 20th, Centennial’s Girls Flag Football team played against Cheyenne High School from 4:30-7:30pm at home, absolutely crushing the competition leaving the final score 48-0!
Throughout the whole game Centennial stuck together as a team, encouraging one another and working as a whole, without bringing others down. Their immense practice and teamwork led their team to victory! First quarter ended with 14-0, Second quarter with 28-0, Third quarter with 35-0, and lastly, Fourth quarter ending with a smashing shut out of 48-0!
Anastasia Cruz, wide receiver on the team expressed her thoughts about the game stating, “I think we did an amazing job last night. From moving the ball, getting into the end zone and defense stopping the other team and getting the other team off the field. We all played together and reminded each other that it’s okay if we drop the ball, if the pass isn’t a completion or if we miss a flag because we can get it on the next drive. Making sure everyone’s energy is good on the sideline and everyone is in a good mental place before we get back onto the field.”
Centennial High School’s Girls Flag Football team is a sure force to be reckoned with.
