At Centennial High School, we have a club called the Best Buddies Club. The club is part of an international organization that is strongly dedicated to supporting people with disabilities.
Every Monday, they have a Google Meet to discuss what they’re planning to do for charity purposes. Each week, their club president sends out reminders on the app, Remind, so everyone knows when to meet.
Sometimes the club meets in Room 201, Mrs. Peck’s room, where they do social skill activities and have fun parties. The main idea of the Best Buddies club is to spread kindness and build real relationships. Whether or not you have disabilities, the club is all about including everyone.
Being part of this club helps people become leaders and makes our school a more friendly, accepting place for everyone. Kids on campus can get involved by reaching out to Mr. Faystofsky, Mrs. Sahagun, or Mrs. Hayley Peck. Mrs. Peck, one of the main Advisors, states, “Best Buddies is dedicated to creating an environment of kindness and inclusion at Centennial and our community.”
