The Design Den at Centennial High School is turning students’ creativity into practical experience, one t-shirt, poster, and window vinyl at a time.
It was made earlier this year as part of the school’s CTE program. Design Den allows students to create their own design imaginable. T-shirts, buttons, banners, and tumblers are only the surface of what you can make.
"Design Den gives any students in CTE classes the chance to create their own design and print it on anything — a t-shirt, poster, or even a simple button” explained a Design Den representative. “We also provide our students with real-world business experience in graphic design, business management, teamwork, and more.” Mrs.Pour stated.
The Design Den seeks to merge the arts with entrepreneurship, offering students the change to explore both aspects of design.
The design team is excited to create new posters, or make new vinyl signs across the campus, including the gym, library, and theatre. They are also creating a permanent graphic wall that will showcase centennial’s activities, sports, and school spirit.
“We’re going to redesign every single vinyl around the school” said a student participant enthusiastically. “This includes all the school-related vinyl signs like those in the gym, library, and theatre — plus, we’re even planning to install a permanent vinyl wall that highlights our school spirit, activities, and food!” Mrs.Pour quoted.
