The Centennial Bulldogs Varsity girls volleyball team played a tough match against the Arbor View Aggies on Wednesday, October 22. It was Arbor View’s annual “Dig Pink” game for breast cancer awareness. Both teams of girls wore pink jerseys, and many players put glitter and ribbons in their hair to support the cause. The gym was filled with pink decorations and loud cheers from the bleachers.
The first set went to Arbor View (25-19) after a strong start from the Aggies. The second set was the closest of the night, with both teams trading points before Arbor closed in with 29-27. The Bulldogs came back fighting in the third set, winning 25-14 with powerful serves and team spirit. In the fourth and final set, the Bulldog girls stayed close, but the Aggies pulled ahead at the end to win 25-21 and take the match.
“It was a really fun but emotional game,” said a Junior on Arbor View’s team. “We wanted to play hard for the cause, and for each other.
The stands were full of loud Arbor View supporters, dressed in red but also wearing pink to support breast cancer awareness. Their cheers filled the gym from start to finish, creating an exciting atmosphere for both teams.
Even though the Bulldogs didn’t get the win, they showed great effort and spirit and definitely had a lot of fun.
