Centennial had an away game on 10/1 against a Liberty team, who holds a 5-1 record. Liberty were the favorite coming into the game and showed up in a big way.
The game started out somewhat slow, but Liberty eventually scored putting themselves up 7-0. For the rest of the 1st quarter, both teams were held scoreless, and showing signs of a somewhat low-scoring game. However, this was proved wrong as Liberty would score right out of the gates with touchdowns via a pass, punt return, and rushing touchdowns. Liberty held a lead of 34-0 going into half.
Coming out of half with all the momentum, Liberty continued to execute their game plan, this time on defense. Scoring two pick 6’s in the 3rd quarter alone, setting up for a smooth 4th quarter. When the 4th quarter rolled around, this theme continued with another pick 6, this sealed the final scoring and the game. With a dominant performance, Liberty would put up a score of 55-0 in a win over Centennial. A devastating loss to the bulldogs, but they hope to bounce back in the following home games.
Centennial(1-6) is now ranked #26 in Nevada, and Liberty(6-1) is ranked #2 in Nevada. Centennial, even with the loss, wants to end the season strong as the last regular-season games are at home. These last home games at Centennial will be against Faith Lutheran and Green Valley.
