Current COVID-19 numbers continue decline

Since the start of COVID-19, the cases for the virus have been continuously tracked and observed.
Since the start of the new year, COVID-19 cases have dramatically decreased. In the last few weeks, though, the average number of cases in the Clark County area has stayed the same.
According to The New York Times, “An average of 359 cases per day were reported in Clark County, about the same as the average two weeks ago.”
Some people who have gotten COVID-19 have had to be hospitalized. Lately, with the decrease in cases, there has also been a decrease in the number of people who have had to be hospitalized.
According to The New York Times, “The numbers of hospitalized COVID-19 patients and deaths in the Clark County area have fallen.”
Since the beginning of the school year, the high schools located in the Clark County area have had an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.
According to the CCSD Newsroom, the total current number of cases for the year is 7,393. The chart containing the data shows that the cases increased the most starting in Jan.
In high schools, most of the cases that were reported were shown to be students.
According to the CCSD Newsroom, out of the total number of cases, 5,942 of the cases were students and only 1,316 were from the school staff.
