What you learn in woodshop class is far more valuable than you think. Mr. Snider teaches his students more than just how to make objects, but how much you can learn and do with the knowledge you gain when you take his class. Woodshop is a CTE class that can be very helpful for a career or not in the future.
Although the students in woodshop don’t compete, they are still creating outstanding projects. The boys and girls who take woodshop classes are currently working on nightstands, which is very hard and precise work. The students put in the time to make something amazing that they can be proud of and get to know they did it themselves. The students spend all year in woodshop class making beautiful projects from scratch, turning nothing into something.
While talking with Mr. Snider, he said “Some of my students are the tortoise and some are the hare, I just care that they’re both at the finish line.” This means whether it takes his students 10 minutes or 10 days to complete their projects as long as they’re willing and able to do their best they can then that is all that matters.
Woodshop class teaches students life long skills that won’t just be used in class. Not only can you find a career out of a class like this, but the knowledge gained can help throughout your adulthood. CTE classes are very important and teach students that they can do projects on their own and that their work matters.
